Electric fan size
What is the largest size dual fans you can fit on a standard radiator? I have a line on some cheap oem electric fans but they are about 18" diameter including the guard/housing etc. Wil I be able to get two on if I stagger them up and down slightly or are they just too big? I guess I should go and measure the rad but its raining and it means wrestling my truck cover off too.

Re: Electric fan size
I think that two 18" fans would be too big to be set up on the same side. You could set one on the inside as a puller and another on the outside as a pusher.

Re: Electric fan size
Would one 18" fan be enough to cool a mild 350 with a decent shroud? At the moment it has a fairly small electric fan bodged on in one corner by the previous owner and to be fair its never overheated and as its on a manula switch I only really need to put it on in heavy traffic.

I run my 85 K5 350 with a one 16" fan and a second pusher fan that is there in case I need it. I have not needed it yet in four years. BUT, I have a manual trans so there is no hot tranny fluid running through my radiator, and I have a four core radiator.

Re: Electric fan size
Its an auto, not sure on the rad thickness, I'm guessing two or three core, probably whatever would have come with the original straight six. Its only a weekend toy now so won't get driven much or worked too hard but if I'm gonna do it I may as well to do it right.

Re: Electric fan size
1, 18" fan will keep you cool. The largest fans that you can run duel is 12". There just isn't enough space for anything larger. WES

Re: Electric fan size
Thanks guys. Can anyone tell me off hand what size the inside diameter of the bottom radiator hose is as I'm hoping to fit an elecronic fan controller in there. Also owuld 16g aluminium sheet (well it would be 1.5mm so slightly thicker) be thick enough for a shroud? I inted to make my own along the lines of Classic Heartbeats shrouds (sorry Wes, can't justify the shipping costs at the moment or I'd have bought one of yours!)
