Cool, thanks. i found a Royal Brass thats a brake quip dealer near by.

Does anyone know what the fittings are called and what sizes? They look like special fittings since they have the c-clip on the backs of them. also both fittings look different.


Napa shows this for a '69 C-10 1/2 ton:
Length:22.313"
Type of Ends:7/16" - 24 & 7/16" - 20

I looked at inline tube. but i also found a hydraulic hose store that sells makes hoses. They have a black anodized SS braided hose material. I also get discounts through the company i work for. it will be cheaper, look better, and they will make them while i wait.

So now i am try to find out exactly what these specific fittings are called and the sizes, so i can order them. If anyone knows where to find the specs on these hoses and fittings, let me know.

I went to through this exercise with BrakeQuip and came up with these partnumbers to have the front and rear brake hoses made.

A few VERY important notes. First, double check the part numbers before you order the hoses. Do not trust my part number in the event that I might have pasted the incorrect parts. Second, provide your own hose length that you need. My truck is lowered which might mean that the length is different than what you need. Third, on my truck on of the male fittings on the hardline that the front hose connects to were different sizes. Since I made my own brakelines I changed them to the same fitting. My parts list reflects this change. So do not assume my parts are exactly what you need.

The total cost of the lines including shipping was about $80.

You can phone Jerry(877-431-0075) at BrakeQuip to check on the parts needed and if they are in stock. They do have a company in the next building that can build the lines for you. The name is Royal Brass and Hose(800-669-9650). You can ask for Matt or Nathan there.

If you need a starting point on your hoses you can mention my name(I am not very imaginative so it is my screen name) and they can probably pull up my order which will list all the parts they used for me.

Front – 2 hoses
fitting 1 – 7/16” banjo HFB448
fitting 2 – 3/8” 24tpi female HFIF01SS
length – 13.5”


Rear – 1 hose

There you go. We are going to be getting the Brakquip equipment next year and make are own from now on.

Alex, thanks for the info. What year is your truck?

When I loook at the rubber rear brake hose that napa carries for a '69 1/2 ton C-10, it says it has a 7/16 -20 and 7/16-24 fitting. The fitting, that connects the hard brake line to the rubber line, on the front and rear of my truck is the same. So i am expecting to need a 7/16 female fitting on both the fronts and rears. A banjo fitting on the fronts and then the male fitting that goes into the T in the rear.

i have already selected some brakequip fittings that look similar to what i have, but i need to go put some caliper on them to know exactly what size they are without removing them. i hope to go to Royal fitting this week.

What diameter line did you use?

I have a 72 C10. I did not specify what diameter of hose to use. I simply assumed that since they make brake hoses and I told them what vehicle I was putting them on, they would know better than I would what size to use. If it helps, the OD of the hose is 1/4". Or did you mean the hard line?

i meant the soft lines.

i just measured mine. i have 3/8 female connector and a banjo in the front. in the back i have 7/16 female and a 7/16 male. the other two ports on the T are 3/8 to the hard lies.

What calipers do you have up front? I have the ECE calipers. I am wondering what the banjo size is.

I have the stock calipers which would be 7/16". If you have newer calipers, they would be 8mm I believe.

Does anyone know for sure what size banjo bolt the ECE calipers use?
