Old pics of YOUR truck??
Anyone ever try to trace the history of your own 67-72 and get any pics? The earliest one I have is in 99 when I bought it. I have spoken with 2 of the previous owners, and they weren't much for taking pics of their vehicles. They were there to be driven and that was about it. Here is the only pic I have from when I bought it.

I wish I could find pictures from those days gone by...
But that would virtually be impossible, I don't know who owned it before me Cya, Edmond These are the first pictures I got, taken by the guy that sold me the truck in the Netherlands:

great thread. I know the guy that owned mine before me but he lives about an hour away. Next time I get down that way I will stop in and ask him if he has any old pictures. I would love to see what my truck looked like when he bought it.
My truck started its life in the Army so I would love to know what Fort it was assigned to!!

Nobody that had mine in the past was proud enough of it to take any pics......kinda sad waht people will do to a truck. I traced it back to a guy that bought it in 76 from a hunting buddy, it had already been shortened and had the stepside bed on it then. It was worn out when he bought it, he tried to finish it off, then sold it to the lady I bought it from in 82. Her husband used it once agian for a coyote rig. Sounds like this one's been beat on since it was driven out of the chevrolet lot.
The first time my father in law told me about it and that it was for sale, i told him I wouldn't touch it for more than $200. Then I saw it about a year later, I'm way to kind hearted I guess. It'll be purdy again someday

This was taken about a year after I bought it (1996). Rims were orange (why? I don't know) now white, and the grill is black now, lots been done to it since then. The bizarre part is the truck "looks" worse now, . Still have to lay that paint down.

I've got one from the early '70s, that my mom claims she took just before she went off to UofA in it...coincidentally, where I'm at now
Sadly...I don't have the scanned version on my comp anymore...I'll try to remember to do it when I run up to Chandler on Sunday... The oldest one I have on my PC is one I took while it was getting painted two years ago. The primered area is where they redid 20-something-year-old Bondo.

I have a polaroid of my truck that was taken 2 or 3 years before I bought it it probably wouldent scan and its soo ugly I should keep it to myself. My truck was donated to Tulsa public schools in 69 by swinson Chevrolet (but its a gmc?) It had an air compressor and a generator in the back they used it on the bus lot until the early to mid 90's the guy I bought it from bougit it at an auction and i bought it in 00 I was the first person to tag it and there is no record of the school owning it so i am the second owner it had 9,800 miles on it when I bought it. Thats kinda long!

I snapped six piccy's the day I brought Grandpa's truck home.
He bought it brand new in September of '72 and I have more or less grown up with it over the years. I've been hunting for some old pictures but they've been hard to find. There is supposed to be one floating around where I was pretend driving it when I was five so so. I so want to find that picture. Check out http://members.cox.net/zurbo1/truck.htm for the piccys.

Here is mine the fall of 1993. It is a not very good scan of photo I have. It was taken at about 9000 feet in Wyoming during my first elk hunt out there. I ended up buying it the following spring.

I love this thread.... Nice to see what the trucks looked like in days gone by. I'll have to dig out the shots I have of mine from the early days and post those. This also makes me realise how nice it is to get my hands on a truck that I have the full history on. My dad bought it new in Merced, CA in 1972 and he and I have owned it ever since.
Thanks for coming up with this idea guys!! Alan Elk Grove, CA |
