Which oil pan for LS swap
Doing a ls motor swap on my 68 and since its bagged the regular truck oil pan hits the ground. I wanted to get a cts-v oil pan cause they are the smallest but are on national back order.

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
I'm using an F-body oil pan for mine. My engine came with a corvette pan (definite no go) and the truck pan hung too low for my tastes

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
I am going to use an F-body pan.
You might try these guys http://www.brphotrods.com/Cadillac%2...20engines.html or maybe this pan although it still may hang down to far. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
The FBody pan should work with those mounts, but it won't work with the ECE mounts.

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
Try this thread at the S10 forum. It shows all of the pans for LS engines. The GTO pan is a front sump pan and will not clear the crossmember.

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
If the one from GM/Jegs will work with a DropMember than I will need to order one right up. That price is much better than others I have seen as well.

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
here's the measurement http://www.jegs.com/i/GM+Performance...12593/10002/-1 you'll have to scoll down in the window to see the measurements. the pan should fit about any installation.

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
I built all my own mounts but I am cheap... plus I did this swap 3+ years ago before it was all the rage and there was not as much available. I am using a f-body pan, I had a truck on on but like you said it hung too low for my tastes. You will need the pickup tube and baffles for the correct pan.
good luck Dave

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
I have a F body one in my 67, fits good, but had to cut and tig a new lower face on the pan. Scaled a set of S&P mounts out of classic truck, and made a set out of 3/8 6061 aluminum. If you don't cut the pan, it may hit the passenger side of the front crossmember.

Re: Which oil pan for LS swap
If one wanted to run dry sump set up I have the Moroso pan, some of the lines and pump that came off an ASA LSx car. It is an incomplete set up but CHEAP.
