stock gear ratio for a 90 burban?
anyone know the stock gear ratios that where most likely to come in the 1990 chevy burbans with 14 bolt rear axle?

Only way to tell what you got is to pop the cover and look on the ring gear

no idea i think i herd it would be on of three options a 3.73 4.11 or 4.56 but idk which and i dont have the axle i am looking to buy it and the person i am buying it from is lets just say mechanically disabled

Going by the 1990 brochure looks like the 3 options were 3:73, 4:10 and 4:56...

Check the glove box sticker. I found these as available in a 1990 Suburban.
The likely code for a 3.42 is GU6 3.73 is GT4 4.10 is GT5 4.56 is HC4 Last edited by Dooley; 10-19-2009 at 02:40 AM. Reason: added info. |
