Interior handle above window on P/S.

You know how on newer vehicles there is a handle just above the p/s door for the passenger to hold on to while getting in or out? well my wife and her dad keep telling me to fit one for them in my Truck. I want to know were these ever fitted in our Trucks, or is it just a matter of pulling one from a latter model something or other?

Re: Interior handle above window on P/S.

The factory never put them in. You would have to fit something from a later model. You could always get a big chrome one off a semi and mount it on the outside... (kidding)

I've wondered the same thing myself. I think it is a great idea. Something chrome or cnc alum. would look good

Re: Interior handle above window on P/S.

Probably the easiest method would be to grab a strap style door handle off an 80's Chevy truck. My Dad had an 81 with a strap door handle that looked really good. I'm not incredibly familiar with those years, but I hope that helps. It was a Silverado if that makes any difference. The handle had chrome on each end and a black strap in the middle. U should be able to just drill 2 holes and screw it in.

.....My father in law is 76 so for him I can understand the need, but my wife seems to end up rolling around in the cab like a loose egg in a shoe box even with the belt on she still flops around...I keep saying can't you hold on to something?? she says you keep turning sharply! I remind her....your not sitting on the couch in doors you know! it's a bloody moving vehicle I have to turn it sometimes.

Armor-all the seat (vinyl) and only make right turns... (unless you have changed yours over to RHD, then make lefts!!)
