75' Daily Driver Budget Makeover AKA "Midnight"
Well I was looking for a 75' or older C10 as a second vehicle to my motorcycle. Whatever I found had to be running fairly good so I could drive it daily if need be. With 5 kids, a wife and a mortgage my budget was not too high. So I looked on CL in Sept of this year and found this 1975 C10 LB. They were asking $1100 for it and a week later the price dropped to $750. So I called him up and asked if he would be willing to trade for a $300 bass guitar and $350 amp. He said bring it buy and we made the deal. Tags current til next year. It didn't have a driver side window or a wiper motor.
Here is how it looked when I brought it home and how it sits now a month later: before after before after before after before after I put some new tires (goodyear) and had a complete break job (new rotors and drums) done on it cost $1000. Went to the junk yard and found a wiper motor, dash bevel, rear window latch w brackets and a cup holder all for $40 bucks. I will be adding some budget sounds (pioneer 6x9's and a stereo), a new carpet kit (grey) and have the seat upholstered (gray). I am looking for some Chevy center caps for my stock OEM rims. Just a cheap makeover on a daily driver.

I love it...a 2 wheel drive truck to be a 2nd car to a motorcycle. That would never happen here. Did you paint you interior with the same paint as the outside?

I go up to Denver every couple of months (truck driver) and I know what you mean, although I have seen some guys riding their bikes around when the temps are below freezing....why I don't know.

Re: 75' Daily Driver Budget Makeover AKA "Midnight"
Well I put the second coat of paint on the truck. This time I used the "Satin Black" instead of the flat black......just a little bit shinier and I painted the front grill also. Next is the carpet and seat upholstered and am looking for some chrome rings and center caps for my wheels. Then I will drop it. Not sure how many inches maybe a 4/6. any suggestions?

That looks better. I say drop it 4/6 for a nice looking stance and a very drivable truck for most situations. My buddy has a 78 LWB on about a 4/6 drop. Works well.
---> I don't understand the guys that ride when it is 20-30 degrees out. I guess they just figure if the road is clear, they will ride. Here is a pic of THE UGLY my buddy who is on here...rarely.

edit: I went into my pics and realized that your buddys truck is the one I have been modeling mine after, as far as the basic stance and look. Here is the pic I have saved on my computer:

Re: 75' Daily Driver Budget Makeover AKA "Midnight"
Nice. His truck has some unique little things on it. The things you see on the doors are fender vents out of something, don't know what know. They are cut in, and have green LEDs in the recesses. He can turn them on anytime, and they look kind of cool at night rolling down the road. I will try and get you some more (better) pictures of it. You probably picked those ones up from the OCT TOTM entry I submitted. BTW: his screen name on here is THE UGLY. Shoot him a message about it. He gets on every now and then.

Cool! His truck does look plain and clean, which I like. Those fender vents are a nice little touch.
