Re: CPP dropped axle kit
I am using a stock axle that has been heated and dropped. Same concept but is a little more cost friendly than CPP's kit.
I got it from a guy on ebay. www.droppedaxles.com is the guys site. I am using the original springs with a coupls leafs taken out.

Re: CPP dropped axle kit
I put a CPP axle and Posies 3" drop springs under my '58, also upgraded to disc brakes. It went in quite well. I opted for the srpings from Posies because they were a two leaf super slider design and thought there would be less wrap up than the monoleaf design.
I don't have truck on the road and probably won't because I am trying to sell it. So I can't give you any feed back on how it handles and drives, but the install was easy. |

Re: CPP dropped axle kit
I was also looking for some input on this kit. I have the issue of Classic Trucks where they do the drop and it looks easy until they start bending stuff to fit. Not sure if I want to get into that or not.

Re: CPP dropped axle kit
If I can sell my S10 swap stuff I was planning on going with an axle from these guys: http://www.droppedaxles.com/
If your a HAMB member you get a discount, regular price is $350 for just the axle, or $300 if you have a core to send them. |

Re: CPP dropped axle kit
as your pics say, classic trucks did an article on the dropped axle - not sure if it was ccp though. It seemed to be pretty straight forward. The main point they stressed was the king pins, that you should use new ones.
I can look it up if you want, but it should be on their web site in the tech section |

Re: CPP dropped axle kit
Well I think I'll go with CPP dropped axle and Posies two leaf super slider and CPP's disc brakes up front....
