68 c 50 carb flooded

I could use some expert advise for my 68 c50. I had it idleing for about 40 minutes while I was loading it with a load of manure. On my way home I was stopped idling at an intersection and it died on me. Wouldn't restart. I had to let it sit for about an hour loaded with 14 yards of horse crap. LOL ( In the way of people trying to leave a sub division). Once I got it started I drove it home but when it was idling again it died and wouldn't start for about 30 minutes. The carb was cleaned this summer. Is there an adjustment I could make?

Also, I believe the carb is factory.

Re: 68 c 50 carb flooded

Several things come to mind.First there is a strainer in a pick up fuel tank that can become clogged, usually this will allow it to idle but have no power etc. There could be something similar going on with it.
Second is vapor lock,Are the fuel lines run near the exhaust or any other heat source.
Third is it possible the fuel pump is weak supplying enough fuel when rpms are up but dropping supply off when idleing.
The carb probably has a "sintered metal"(looks like lava made of brass. They can become clogged.
These are just a few things it could be that come to mind.I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions also. But be warned, they're gonna want pics since they are a bunch of pic Ho's LOL.

Re: 68 c 50 carb flooded

Thanks!

I've been looking around and I think vapor lock or the carb and fuel heating up is the first place I'll look. I'm not sure how to insulate the carb or fuel lines from engine heat.

I'll see if I can track down an aluminum heat shield for my carb
