Drop shocks

Shocks question, I have a 56 with a 70 Monte Carlo subframe. I cut the coils in the front about 2 1/2-3" drop and lowered the rear about 4". I'm going to need some good drop shocks anyone been there, any experiance with that type setup? Best price, type, quality, ect. Thanks, Glenn.

Re: Drop shocks

i clipped my '38 chrysler with a '69 camaro. i cut the coils on the front for about a 2 or 3 inch drop and used stock shocks. so i would go with stockers in the front. as far as the rear, go to the parts house and start looking for shocks. make sure you know what you want your ride height to be!

Re: Drop shocks

I think I use 68-82 vette shocks on the rear. Their really short with eyes on both ends, and most part stores stock them.

Re: Drop shocks

I went to the Monroe site and found a mini coilover front shock for the front, not sure if it's good for a lowered truck. I haven't found any drop shocks on the net for that year Monte Carlo. I thought all the GM A-bodys were the same, guess not. Thanks for your input, I'll follow up on the Vette rears.
