Re: 85 outta paint

That works for me, or what it is off of if a factory color. It almost looks like the British Racing Green. Good work though. Does he still have the wheels in these pics? I think I would run them for him if he just has to get them off his hands.

Oh, not the British Racing Green then unless it has been altered. Let me know because I am curious now.
-->The wheels look good but they are about $775 too much for me. He should be able to sell them pretty easy I bet.

Re: 85 outta paint

So when are we going to see it on the street? Are you working on it at the Byron center? The work looks great; you should be proud.

I usually say I hate green, but I believe I could make an exception for that one; it looks great. Looking forward to seeing the truck out on the streets.

And hey, 3ric84, we're in Lubbock, Texas...we don't need dirt roads to be covered in dirt; the dirt comes to us!

Re: 85 outta paint

It's not that bad most of the time...but I'm old enough to remember walking home from school when I was a kid and the dirt would get so bad the streetlights would come on in the middle of the afternoon. We're completely surrounded by cotton fields...the cotton farmers have gotten a lot better in recent years about running a sandfighter over the land after they harvest to keep the loose dust from blowing as bad. But we still get a couple of days a year, mostly in the spring, where it's pretty awful...but the rest of the time, when the wind isn't blowing that hard, our climate is pretty nice. And look at the bright side...our trucks don't rust much, except where the dirt gathers and holds water...of course, our windshields and chrome are always sandblasted...

From the same photo site, what the land around here looks like:

The truck looks really nice with the phantom painted to match. I think this is the first time I have liked a phantom grille. Good work.

thanx for all the compliments guys! got a couple more pics for you guys! and a close up of the paint with a bright light, looks way different at different angels tho! and yes, the grille is painted too, we decided to paint everything, and didnt know how it would look at first but turned out amazing! and john, my truck is pretty much at a stand still due to the camaro project,t his 85, and my elcamino is also in the body shop, elky has to be done before my 87, its a suprise for my dads retirement! the 87 project has been undergoing ALOT of planning tho, and we decided to go all out, the professors said nothing cool ever really comes out of there that is a 4th semester project, so we are teaming up to make my truck the baddest full student project to come out of the shop! it goes into the body shop mid-late january so look forward! and than again guys!

and here is the paint code as promised MG416.10 , we use all BASF products and the brand of the paint we use is DIAMONT
