Summit G3136-1 Fuel Pump Leak
I wanted to ask and see if anyone has ran into the same problem that I have. I purchased a brand new Summit G3136-1 electric fuel pump a few weeks back. Ran great, made my pickup a beast. After a few days I noticed it was leaking around the base plate. Summit was very gracious and sent me a new one with no hassle. I install the new one, same problem, base plate leaking after some a very short time running. I am now on my third pump, and will be installing it in a day or two. I want to add, other than the leaking fuel pump, Summit Customer Service has been the best I have encountered in many years.
For those that will ask, here is the set up. I have installed it in the frame below the fuel tank. there is a short rubber fuel line to the inlet, and another rubber fuel line running up to the carburetor. I have a fuel filter on the inlet side, and have a fuel regulator on the pressure side. If anyone can tell me whether my install is incorrect, or I have gotten 2 lemon fuel pumps, I would certainly appreciate it. |
