77' Blazer 2wd Factory Emissions Equipment
Do any of you members know if GM installed factory emissions equipment of 77 Blazers? Here is in Va. I need to have a catalytic converter and/ or smog equipment, on any vehicle made after 1973. This really sucks............

Re: 77' Blazer 2wd Factory Emissions Equipment
I don't know the answer to your question but I took the smog equipment off my 75 Caddy and never had any problems with inspection. Its up to the inspector to find it and many just don't care. A "hollow" cat that looks right is usually sufficient for those that do care. Get a oil change and/or tire rotation and most stations will be happy for that business.
Also there is a smog inspection exemption for cars older than 25 years. And lastly, you could always register as antique if you don't drive it that much. Here's a link to the VA code. But if we all went by the code there would be zero car hobbyists in VA. http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp...10000000000000 |
