Had the Inside of my Weatherguard Rhino Lined

Just thought I'd share this with you all. I'm so pleased with this, it's one of the best truck mods I've ever thought of on my own.

So, these boxes are $750 to $950 brand new. I found this one on Craigslist for $200 and it was in good shape, but it was dirty as hell on the inside, and I planned on using it as a big beer cooler, or at least as storage for my clothing and other important articles besides just tools.

My first instinct was to clean it out, which I tried doing with a car wash pressure sprayer, then WD-40, then acid, then Mothers Mag Polish. It was long and tedious, and I was never happy with the result. So, I decided to get her rhino'd. NOW look at it. The dusty footprints are from the duder stepping in there to re-attach everything once he was done.

That looks freaking sweet!!! I think you may have started a new trend. I can just about guarantee you that I will be doing this to mine this winter when I can get it inside where it's warm and dry.

Re: Had the Inside of my Weatherguard Rhino Lined

As for the "How Much" question, they should be able to do it for $75 to $150 at Rhino Linings/Ziebart, Line-X, etc.

It's really a price that you must negotiate. The guy that does the actual work will know it takes a long time to tape everything off, and he'll estimate high (in the $125 to $175) range because he'll understand the hours involved.

But if you ask them for their best price on a truck bed, and then say it's $350, just tell them your box is 1/4 the size of your bed, so you expect to pay $90.

In any effect, I was really happy and I probably would've paid $300 for this, so anywhere between $75 and $180 is fair, I'd say.

It cost me $150.

Re: Had the Inside of my Weatherguard Rhino Lined

You're all gonna think I'm bumping this thread just to keep patting myself on the back, but another added benefit to this mod is that you can put virtually anything in there now and it doesn't slide around and make noise like a marble in a tin can. Rhino stops it from slipping and when it does hit the side, the Rhino dampens the noise.

Does this mean that if you put in a drain plug, it could be used as a cooler??????

Already in our plans!

I've got a drill, a 1" hole saw, and a 1" rubber stopper plug. The question is, where do you put the drain hole? In a corner on the bottom surface?

Lining the tool box was a great idea. I will definitely be doing that to my tool box once I get ready to put it back in my truck.
