Summit Carbs
I was browsing the pages of Summit website checking out carburetors and I saw Summit branded carburetors. Is this a new thing? It has been a few years since I was looking for aftermarket speed parts, but I do not remember Summit being in the carb game.
That said, anybody have any opinions on them? The one I was looking at was a 600cfm, Square Bore, Electric Choke, Vacuum Secondary, dual fuel inlet - Summit SUM-M08600VS Any thoughts would be appreciated as I will be starting a restore project on a 67 c-10 and a 78 K-30 this winter. I think they're based on a Holley. Vegaschevy has one. Might PM him.

A lot of the summit "brand" stuff is name brand stuff in a plain box. Don't know about the carbs myself, but someone got a "summit" fuel pump and it had edelbrock cast into it.

I bought one and am very happy with it. I got it in a kit with their intake and all needed gaskets etc. it also came with a new air cleaner and mounting plates.

Friend of mine has one on his '62 Impala. Just a generic Holley double pumper is all it is...

They look like those Holley carbs that were "new" about 10 years ago, where everything is in the base- so there are no bowls to remove or leak. I had the 750cfm version- ditched it for a standard double pumper and the engine seemed crisper...

What is the thumbs down for?? They sound like they are a pretty decent carb according to other members.

The Summit carbs are made by Holley and are based on the old Holley 4010 carb, which was discontinued several years ago. It was a very good design based on the Autolite 4300 carb, one of the best carbs ever built. The two piece design prevents leaks at the fuel bowls which other Holley carbs sometimes develop. I have not run these carbs but I had an Autolite carb which is of the same design and it was an awesome carb.
