Front Bumper Guard ?

My truck is a "plain jane" LWB which has a chrome bumper I installed after I removed the 7 ' snow blade set-up. (Blade, pump and bolt-on frame work for sale if anyone in Kansas is interested.) Been toying with the idea of putting on a set of the original 71-72 bumper guards. (Don't have them as of yet ) My question is regarding the installation of them. Is the bumper guard actually bolted to the bumper with a bolt passing through the bumper or is it "clamped on" by a bolt and backing plate arrangement as I've been told by some? Don't have any "local" examples to check. If I have to drill the bumper I'm not sure I want to as it was hard to find an original, decent, straight bumper here in the flatlands of Kansas. All replies are appreciated.

The type that I have on my Blazer has one top bolt and a hook. It has one bolt that replaces your top bolt in the bumper. Then the bottom has a hook that just hooks on to bottom of your bumper. There isn't any drilling that has to be done and it is very stable. I have attached a crappy picture of my blazer and my bumper guards. I drilled holes on the top of my guards to put off road lights on it. That way I didn’t have to drill holes in my bumper.

jaimie, with you saying there are two types of guards, perhaps that is the reason I was told they are a clamp on item. See chaptr2's post.

chaptr2, Thanks for the input on the guards. I will be waiting to see the pics. There is a swap meet coming up 7th & 8th of Feb and it will be a help to know what I'm looking for.
