differences in c10 and c20 pickups
Yep, still looking for a truck and I found a nice one but it's a c20. Can someone tell me the differences between a 1/2 and 3/4 68 pickup? Are the c20's harder to lower etc? do the c20 have bigger parts and that's it?
Thx Tim

Also forgot to ask. Did they ever make a c20 in a short bed?

Re: differences in c10 and c20 pickups
yes, they are harder to lower, but 3/4 ton rated lowering springs exist. however, i question the need for a lowered HD truck....seems counterproductive. the springs, trailing arms, track bar, etc, are beefed up for hard work.
no, they didn't build a swb other than the 1/2 ton. people bought the HD trucks to haul big loads, so a short bed was not a practical choice at the time....not that that hasn't become a trend now (with extended cabs). a swb 3/4 ton truck would be REALLY cool if it was built in factory fashion. perhaps someone will build up a rig from some spare parts and a shortened frame. |
