2008 2wd z-71 ?

Is this a for real truck? I have never heard of this but I really like the truck and I might buy it if I can get the deal right. Does anybody know about this option? Thanks, Jamie

Re: 2008 2wd z-71 ?

It is just a 2 wheel drive truck with the Z-71 suspension package. The decal on the 2 wheel drive trucks does not say off road on them like the ones on the 4 wheel drive trucks.

What's the other truck? No link above...

I have an '08 Chevrolet 4x4 CC and love the truck. Plenty of power and towing capability.

Re: 2008 2wd z-71 ?

Tough choice... do you go for interior space, low mileage, or body style? What a delima!

The price will be a major factor on this purchase IMO. Great body color choice, both provide great styling, and excellent towing capabilities. IIRC the main difference on the Z71 vs. 4x4 has come down to only a few minor differences (skid plate, possibly rearend gearing, tougher shocks, but that's about it).

Do you have any "plans" for either truck?

Yeah, thats a pretty tough decision. They are essentially two different trucks. If you don't need the 4x4 i would probably opt for the lower miles. Then again maybe you don't need the 4x4 but need the room. Either way they are both nice truck, i am a little partial to the NBS because of the interior. I like it much better than the 00-06 interior.

After having both an extended cab, and now having a crew cab. The crew cab would be my choice. I'm spoiled to the room, and convenience.

Re: 2008 2wd z-71 ?

Thanks guys I went with the 07 crew cab. The room won me over. Plus after driving both again the 07 just out rode and drove the 08. Plus after looking closer between the RAIN sowers I found a lot of scrathes on the 08. I am very happy with it. I really don not have plans for it right now other than driving it. Again thanks alot on the advise and you will see more of me on this side of the board now that the 86 is gone.

Re: 2008 2wd z-71 ?

BTW, congrats on selling the '86. The thought had crossed my mine a time or two...

And congrats on going with the '07. I think for your family size and as quickly as kids grow, you went with the right one.

Z71 was 4x4 specific on GM full size trucks for almost 20 years. Now it is an 'off road' package available on both 2wd and 4wd trucks

Especially having two kid seats in the back of my 2000 Ext Cab. No way one can fit behind the drivers seat

Ok, you've had enough time... we need some "personal" pics of the new truck.

Re: 2008 2wd z-71 ?

Yep, Z71 has always been an off road setup package. Until the gmt900 and Colorado/Canyon trucks it was only used on 4x4 trucks. Now it is on 4x4 and 2wd
