1972 front brake hoses question

Hi all, I need to replace the L+R front brake hoses to get my 72 c10 registred here in Holland. Now the part dealers here say that the 71 fonrt brake hose is different then the 72 hose, and they don't have the 72 on stock. I actually have my doubts if they indeed are different..

Does anyone know which front brake hoses I can use on my 72 C10 (disc brakes, coil springs).

Thanks, Anton.

Re: 1972 front brake hoses question

Thanks guys, I just found a left and right hose on rockauto.com. They sell them for 71 and 72, just like I thought.

Looks like the duth parts dealers dont know everything they should know.

Anyway, this part of US history will be on the dutch roads within a few weeks (if it is not snowing or raining !!)

Anton.

Re: 1972 front brake hoses question

If the 71 has disc front brakes then they are the same. If the 71 has drum front brakes then they are different. 72 had disc. most 71's had drum

I agree. Don't know if the 71 c10's to c30's had anything other than discs on front. I have never seen one either. Maybe they did but i never saw one and we sell brakes for a living.

Re: 1972 front brake hoses question

The L and R front brake hoses are NOT the same. They are the same length, however one has a larger diameter fitting for the flare nut than the other. IIRC it is the driver side that has the larger diameter fitting. I just installed some on my project 72 a few weeks ago.

Correct. Not the same.
They are different lengths but only like 1/4" and the left does have a different but similiar end
