Most are using "nightshades" from you local parts store. its in a spray can.
Others will take clear and mix in a small amt of black paint if you have a paint gun and shoot them that way.

Do a google search and TONS of stuff comes up. People are using it on every car out there..... I have thought about using it on my CTSV but have not pulled the trigger yet....

Re: Whats the best way to smoke tailights but not make them to dark
It works well not only to darken tail lights, but is also an excellent police attractant. They can smell it from several blocks away.
Use some bright bulbs beneath those lenses, maybe even an LED kit. Prep the lenses extremely well. Wash thououghly 3-4 times, and don't touck 'em with bare skin. Paint 'em in a box or makeshift booth, with multiple light coats. Imperfections (dust, oils, dirt, cracks, fingerprints, fish-eyes) in the tint seem more exaggerated than with regular rattlecans. Re: Whats the best way to smoke tailights but not make them to dark
I used it on my magnum. Works good. Make several light coats because it doesnt take much to make it too dark. Hit it with a coat of clear and wet sand between coats, then buff the clear and the will look awesome. I did mine sitting on top of my bbq grill in my apartment.
