speedo/ speedo cable problem?
Guys, ive had this problem for a while.
Used to have a th350 in my truck. With this tranny, the speedo needle would go back and forth about 10-15mph from my acutal speed. It would also make a squeaking/bad cable noise, but the cable is new and lubed. I swaped in my new 2004R tranny. When they shipped it, I gave em the info and they sent the correct gears. 255/60/15 tires and 3.54 gears. I told them 3.54 because I THOUGHT I had a th350c, and thats what my rpms to speed calulated to be. I really have 3.42 gears. Now the speedo is off about 10mph, and every once in a while it will sweep back and forth, but no noise. Whats wrong????

Is the cable connection tight at the transmission? Is the cable kinked anywhere? Make sure the cable turns are wide and smooth, tight turns will cause the cable to "bounce".

I agree. Sounds like something worng with the cable. I installed one that was too long and bounced like yours is and ended up breaking a few days later due to too much slack and twisting itself.
