Help me make a decision.

I would like to rebuild the whole fuel system due to it's age. One tank has a hole in it, the other tank is not in the best of shape. I figure if I am already doing the tanks mite as well do pumps, selector valve, and lines/hoses as well.

Also I would like to replace the rusty rear drum brakes with a disc brake system. The disc brake system I looked at was only $100 than to rebuild the the drum brake system.

The Catch: My 5-10 year plane for this truck is a complete frame off resto, box the frame, dana 60 front axle in the rear for rear steering (my goal is "The Ultimate Work Truck", but still a daily driver). which will have disc brakes already. I only have so much money to work with. Help me make up my mind.

Re: Help me make a decision.

If you redo the fuel system now it would still be good in 5 years when you do your rebuild, maybe need some cleaning but for the most part it would be something to cross off the rebuild list. Same with the brakes, but if you have a leak in a tank that would make it a little more of a priority to me at least.

Re: Help me make a decision.

I would do the fuel system. Like stated above it will still be good in 5yrs. I would hold off on doing the brakes until the rebuild. No since in spending the money to do it one way now, and then do something different a few years later.

Re: Help me make a decision.

just dont half arse anything you rebuild now because in five years you'll be pissed at yourself for doing it that way
