whats this relay for?? 84 chevy

I finally got to parting out the rest of this '84 cab.. I snaked the power window wiring harness and was surprised when I found a couple of relay's (one relay box with what looked like two relays) as a part of this harness? A bit different than my '77 windows.

Is this normal? I figured by the large guage of wire used for the switch wiring, that there were no relays.

well the power window harness goes from the left kick panel up thru the dash and over to the right kick panel..

its all taped up and what not. Well there is another smaller (but still large bunch of wires) that branches off just to the left of the middle of it and is only 16 or 20 inches long and it goes directly to the relays which are mounted to that big stamped steel support thing that goes over the steering column. Its like a big shroud that covers the top half of it (inside the dash) make sense? anyways if you were looking for the relays youd have to look up under on the passenger side of the steering column. Check it out guys

That is the relay for the power door locks. There is no relay for the windows, just the locks. It isn't really two relays in one, but just has some wires for the high current that go to each lock solenoid and some for the control that go to each lock switch.
