396 Question
What year did they go from a canister oil filter to a spin on?
1969 C-20 Numbers matching 396 TH400 maybe it is a early 69?

My '69 El Camino had a 396 with a spin-on filter... bought it new in early 1969.

65 - 67 were canister and 68 - beyond went to a spin-on.
