Changed the center support bearing, installed gas door bumpers, pulled the door panel to remove the lock cylinder to check for the key code. jay

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
This week I got my first car loan. What a PITA...
I got the truck for WAY below KBB, so I got a loan for 3k more than the price of the truck so I can ave some fun and establish some better credit... Orded a new Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT DVD/Nav unit for the new truck.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
Yesterday we took the kids swimming at the indoor pool/slides in town. Then shoveled the snow & ice from around the truck and took it to the store. Man i need to come up with some money to get parts to get that 355 in. We had some old friends in town for the night so that was awesome.
Today my wife & daughter went with my mother & sister inlaws to see the new Princess & Frog movie. So I hung out and played with my 1 year old boy. We don't get boy time very often.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
I ran calls all day on Saturday. Today I cleaned a weeks worth of grime off of all our daily drivers. When you have 5 black trucks in the garage it takes a lot of cleaning.
Finally got fresh pics of my 06 Silverado. It's in the For Sale Forum looking for a new owner.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
Nothing truck related. I did sell my old 12 bolt.
Ran some new network lines in my home office and another in my boys room, finally upgraded everything to Gb. Might run one more to entertainment center one of these days in case I need it. I hate attics and wiring. I hate them even more in the summer.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
Still could not get the A/C brackets (& equip) off of the G30. Decided to try the other side of the block and tackled the smog pump and alternator. Managed to wrench both of those free...
I am going to post a thread with a couple of pics of what I found today.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
Removed all traces of the AutoLoc Air Command from the Heap. All the pieces and parts are packed in a box for a cross country ride in a UPS trailer. Good riddance!
Watched my daughter back out of the driveway and head out (alone) into the world this morning. Today was the first day she could drive by herself, so she went for a little cruise. Gosh, she was just a baby yesterday. LOL

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
I finally got my new tilt column and 88-94 steering wheel put in. I have been chasing electrical gremlins, until I found out my new battery is junk. That was tasty.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
It was a horrible game . Oh well , I guess for now they will have to be happy with just the 5 Superbowls they have won .
We had Basketball games Saturday , our last two Christmas get togethers on Sat , and today I finally got around to doing the European style mount of my sons 9 point he took this season . Nothing else really , too muddy here . Frank

Well I didn't do much this weekend but my wife birthed our second child on saturday. We brought her home today and we've had company all day. Things are just now settling down for the night.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
Cut up a bunch of firewood, and then towed it all home. I don't know how heavy it was, but it put that new motor to the test. It was my longbox stuffed as tall as it could go, and another Longbox ford trailer hooked up to a 6ft trailer with a logsplitter on it and firewood stacked all around it.
During all that, I decided that hey, maybe 4wd is great with the snow melt going on and going up hills just spinning tires. I swear I'll get that linkage fixed soon.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
I finished the 67-72 blazer gas tank inlet 'nipple' (up-sized from 1.25" to 2" inlet) for the 64. Since the tank is a galvanized steel (I think it is anyway...) & the inlet nipple is stainless, I'm going to let a pro weld it up w/a TIG machine this week.
I also got a little time in on my chassis for the 64. I got the rear shock c.member mocked up (upper shock mounts & exhaust c.sections tacked in place). I worked a little yesterday, helped an old buddy move, worked a little more this morning, watched the Vikings play football (the other team didn't show up ) & worked on a build thread for my 64.

Re: what did you get done 1/17/10 edition
x2 on the new baby congratulations...my new one is coming at the end of March...
I drove an hour away and sold two puppies to one guy...he's going to use them for hunting...he's got 8 weimaraners already...whew...and then today I sold another one...one more left and that's it... I went over to a buddy's house Saturday after selling the two puppies and picked up two gas tanks and a set of taillights for my new to me ccsb...all I need now is to shorten the brake line and the d/s, mount up the bed, get the wiring harness installed for the new power doors, and put the diesel and 700r4 in it from my shortbed....not much left...lol Last edited by Stitch; 01-18-2010 at 01:01 AM. |
