Re: windshields top tint???

it could have been a replaced cheapie ORM windshield every AC Truck ive seen has the blue tint on it in the glass... You could put regular window tint on it just as far as the OEM stamp ( at least in NY)

Re: windshields top tint???

Usually if the windshield is tinted it will also be shaded at least it always was when I was in the biz. Might be different now lotsa things have changed and not always for the better, good case in point removing the lead from glass you can still find cars from the 40's-50's and 60's with the OE windshields in them with no rock chips granted they will show sign of separation and clouding around the edges but that glass was tough as the hubs a hell! I replaced enough to notice the difference over the years.

Re: windshields top tint???

out of all the 67-72s i have seen in person a/c or no a/c only a handful didn't have the tint/shading across the top.On my truck a 69 chevy c10 non a/c and my dad's old trucks a 69 chevy c10 non a/c and 71 GMC K1500 non a/c all had the shading/tint across the top I think my grandpas 72 was the sameway. But it could just be the area I'm in also.

Yes, if you get one replaced, all you got to do is ask for a shaded one. I used to be an auto glass guy, all my old trucks got a shaded one, it's so much nicer.

Re: windshields top tint???

Was it maybe a later year option? Like maybe it wasn't available until '70-'71'-'72? I had an old Nova that had the top tint several years ago, but I don't remember seeing this on vehicles before '70 or so.

Re: windshields top tint???

My truck came from Georgia and still had the factory windshield with A/C. I bought it from the original owner and it came with the tinted side and rear but no shading on the windshield. I replaced it when I redid the truck and put a shaded one in.
