All BB 1/2 ton 2wd's are 3.08's. I believe posi should be on the SPID.

Re: what rear end ratio would 72 chevy 1/2 with 402 have

wont that help my gas mileage?

Im not real sure what ive currently got but sorta wanted a lower (# higher) gear for more neck jecking takeoff lol

should i get a 308 or 373 or another gear?

I mostly do countryroad driving with some 55-60-65mph (traveling to get parts rarely)

a gas friednly gear would be nice for my HS wallet

what is something like this worth?

Re: what rear end ratio would 72 chevy 1/2 with 402 have

3.08's is the lowest (numerically) gear these trucks had, if you're looking for quicker out of the hole and you're only cruising 55-60, 3.73's would be a better choice.
But 3.08's will be better mileage wise, do you have a tach? What kind of rpm's are you turning?

I don't use a gasket, just sealer, but yes, a gasket and gear oil is all. I'm bettin' you already have 3.73's. But I've been wrong, just ask my wife.

Quickly.

Black RTV is fine, and yes, 80w90. I can't remember how much it holds, I'd grab 3 bottles.

$75 sounds pretty good for a complete rear.
