Front end re-assembly...68 C10

I have looked around this board for some helpful input on front end re-assembly of my 68 C10. Aside from buying a service manual is there a place on the board that covers step-by-step front end re-assembly completely so I don't get anything screwed up.

I mean well, but this is my first complete frame off that I am doing by myself and I figure the more I know the better. Have all parts either new (or blasted/cleaned and painted) and could use some guidance with regard to re-assembly sequence, torque ratings, tips, etc.

Have 2.5" McCaughy drop spindles with DJM 1" lower front coil.

Also, I put a front disc brake kit with power booster, and a 71 drum rear end in it for the 5 lug conversion, and want to order all new SS brake lines...would I need front lines for a 68 power set up...and a one pc line for the 71 back?

I am going to order the lines soon...I am sure the LMC people can advise me...but wanted to get some board input. Just want to get it to a roller status so I can move it better. Will definitely car hauler it to alignment/brake pros before I ever fire the motor. No death wish here. lmao

Tom...I'm sure others will chime in on the reassembly part, but a service manual from Haynes would be a great start for ya...

Also, just an FYI....LMC doesn't advise about nothing....they take the order and send it....might be better off calling inlinetube.com or a board vendor to help ya with brake lines....they will advise and at least stand by their product!

I think that once you get the parts all layed out most of it will come back to you.....

are you going to do the control arm bushings?? they are the biggest PIA...the other stuff is pretty simple but be sure to never sieze all your nuts,bolts and threads on the steering link/tie rods and ball joints....

as far as the brakes and alignment you can do that too...it won't be perfect but close enough to drive it to the alignment shop..... I can walk you though it if you like but its very simple all you need is a tape measure a sharpe and a 2' level

what I find helps is to find a couple pics of new front ends or look at page 139/140 in the new LMC book they show a break down of the front end and where stuff goes... heck you could even look at your ramble most of the parts are the same ...theres only a few parts to assemeble so it more about the adjustments

Thanks. I am buying the Haynes manual and going to lay out the pages in the LMC and C10 assembly manual and I think I can do it. I appreciate your offer to help me through it...and I just may call/PM you if I get stumped or want to align it so I can drive to alignment shop.
