Diffrences In Bolt Pattern

Hey guys been a long time wallflower on here absorbing as much as possible. But I can't seem to figure out which models came with 5x5 bolt pattern or
5x4.75 bolt pattern. I have a 70 GMC originally 6 bolt but have just swaped in 71 5 bolt suspension. Everywhere that I have looked says that it is 5x5 but I have measured the wheel studs and it is 4.75 center to center. Were there two bolt patterns or am I measuring wrong?
Thanks

Re: Diffrences In Bolt Pattern

5x5 for the '71-72 trucks

IIRC 5x4.75 was used on cars.

Re: Diffrences In Bolt Pattern

Yeah 4.75 was for cars and S10 pickups.

You might have some Camaro rotors. If so, you need to make sure you have the right wheel bearings and calipers.

Re: Diffrences In Bolt Pattern

Are you measuring like this for 5 lug? If not, that's your problem.

Re: Diffrences In Bolt Pattern

Chevy Mike's illustration looks crazy but that is the correct way to measure the bolt pattern size.
Once again: 5x5" for full size trucks
5x4.75" for cars and S10 trucks, blazers

Re: Diffrences In Bolt Pattern

May be a full size bolt pattern picture you can print will help you figure out what you have. I generated one that can be found on my build thread (post #79) (read narrative for printing) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=318544&page=4

From my understanding there is only three bolt patterns used on the 67 -72 trucks and there listed on the picture

Re: Diffrences In Bolt Pattern

That is my problem then, Like I said I was going from center to center on the wheel studs. That makes me feel a lot better, not having to replace everything that I just did. Thanks Guys
