66 gmc park lamp lenses
Hey,
has anyone out there redone a set of gmc park lamp lenses? i picked up a set of new ones this weekend and they come with one end of what looks like a pop rivet, but i am not quite sure how to re-fasten them to the housing itself. any help would be awesome! Ryan |

Re: 66 gmc park lamp lenses
Yeah the pop rivet's expand out to hold the lenses put the small end through the lenses and the housing make sure the gasket is between then take a small center punch that's tapered and tap on the small end of the rivet to expand it to hold the lenses and housing together. You may have to drill or ream out the housing so the rivet's fit, mine fit but were tight.---Vernski
PS Tap easy a heavy hand may break the lenses |

Re: 66 gmc park lamp lenses
I did mine a while back,I ran a 6-32 tap through the housing and tapped the hole. Then I fastened the the lenses to the housing using 6-32x3/8 long stainless steel screws.I did have to enlarge the holes on the lenses slightly for the 6-32 screws.Worked like a charm, and takes the possibily of missing the rivet and cracking your lense out of the equation.Just another thought.
