front & rear springs

Does anyone know of a good place to buy a set of front & rear stock springs for my 71 GMC 4x4. I can't decide if I want to leave it stock height or go with a 2" lift?

If you have the stock springs, plan on staying at stock height, and they aren't rotten why not have them rearced? Any reputable spring shop can rearc and paint them for you. If you are going to lift it try Skyjacker, try http://www.skyjacker.com/html/default.asp or any 4x4 shop. They do a 2 or 2 1/2" Softride and the ride is comparable to stock.

Its to bad your not any closer, I have a set for sale that are like new for a fraction of the cost for new ones $125.00 USD(still have the stickers on them form where they were made). The only draw back is there Stock and out of a K-20, unless your its for a K-20.

Decided to go with the stock height on the leaf springs. My glove box parts id says that my truck came with the heavy duty leaf springs, which ones are they, the 2 leaf or the 3 leaf?

What is the difference between the 2 leaf and the 3 leaf springs. I found a really good buy on a 2 leaf set, they are 25 bucks a piece and were only on the vehicle for 2 months.

The heavy duty leaf springs are the 3 leaf type. Now it will all depend on what certain type of specks you what or need such as:
-For a 3 leaf spring
Pros
*More Off-road capability
*Much more hauling capability
Cons
*Rougher ride

-For a 2 leaf spring
Pros
*Much better ride
Cons
*Less hauling capacity

As for the price on thoughs 2 leaf springs that a great buy if 2 leafs will suit your needs.

Kruzer69,
I went ahead and bought the front leaf springs for 50 for the set and shipping cost me another 50, so I got them for 100, still think that I got a good buy them.

Yes that is still a great deal. And its getting harder to find good used stock spring.
