Bumper rechroming

Does anyone have an idea of how much it cost to rechrome bumpers? Searched onlined and found 300-500 dollars and if thats the case i'll just buy repops also if anyone knows of any chrome shops in joliet-chicago,IL area could you let me know

That's about right. I checked into it about 5 yrs ago and was quoted a ballpark figure of $250. More if they had to do some work on it. I decided to paint mine for the time being.

around here chroming is OUTRAGEOUS! For $100 you can get a repop and replace it every decade if you want...

I bought a rechrome many years ago from Golden State Pickup parts. At that time, they guaranteed the chrome for life (dunno if they still do that) and it's still in great condition, with virtually no special care on my part -- it's lucky to get washed a couple times a year. They also offered to buy bumpers -- no clue if that still applies either. A quick check of their website shows bumpers (1972) at $175.
