71/72 Throttle pedal in 70

I want to put the 71/72 throttle pedal assembly in my '70 but don't know where to find one. Also would it be a pretty straight forward install? What exactly will I have to change and how long do you guys think it would take?

Thanks,
Nova

Hey Nova....

If you watch the parts board they are on there all the time.....BUT if you will become a subscribing member, you ca post up a WTB (Want to Buy) thread over in the parts board and I'm SURE someone can help you out.

Second, member 'Rckcrl' makes an adapter plate with very little work to make it work in your 70.....I'll see if I can find his thread on it!!!

Good luck!

Re: 71/72 Throttle pedal in 70

I used Rckcrln's adapter plate setup to put a '72 pedal in my '69. Worked out great, easy install. I used a Lokar throttle cable with mine, but you can use a stock '72 cable as well. Here's the link: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=371099

What did you do about the two balls that hold the original pedal in? Grind them off or what?

They unscrew from the floor. Then you can weld up the holes, I just left the holes cause I'm lazy.

Yeah, you'll need the whole assembly. I don't think it's repopped, you'll need to hunt it down. I got the pedal assembly off a Board member for $20 or $30 bucks.
