For those who braved installing their own windshields, what adhesive did you use and where did you purchase?

Did you use adhesive between windshield and gasket?

How did you apply adhesive between the gasket and the truck? On the truck? gasket? Both?

Apologies for 20 questions, looking to try this install in the springtime.

No adhesive is used. Stuff a parachute cord or any 1/8 in dia nylon cord between the glass abd the inner side of the gasket all the way around starting and ending in one corner. Start the glass into the cab from the outside at that corner and GENTLY pull one end of the cord straight toward you. It will pull the gasket into the inside of the cab with very little coaxing. 5 minutes, you're done! You will need some friends though.

Same here. I don't use any glue anywhere. Just fit the gasket to the glass and pull it in. I use weedeater twine. Be sure and lube the rubber and cab channel really well though. I have found Goop hand cleaner works very well since it's thick enough to cling in place without dripping off like soapy water will. 67-72 windshields are really pretty easy to install.

I did my 63 yesterday and that one was a struggle. The wrap around makes it pretty tough. I'd rather do 10 of the later models to that one.

tx firefighter has good advice there. Goop or go-joe works well and it cleans up decent afterwards. No adhesives needed.

I did mine the same way... I should have waited until it was warm out I stretched the rubber a little bit pulling it at the top, but it turned out good. I called a glass shop locally before I did it and they refused to do it saying they were impossible not to break. Ha... I think there just lazy, if it isn't held in with urethane they don't want to do it.

How about the stainless trim? How does that go on/off? Possible to do it without hosing the trim?

The windshield has to be removed to get the trim out unless you cut the rubber seal close to the trim to release it.

To install I just put the rubber around the glass, put the trim in and installed the glass the same as the non-trim. With the trim I would recommend at least 3 people to hold everything in place while assembling and installing, but I like to have 3 people when installing the regular windshields too. It is more work with the trim but I think it's worth it.

Another thing, there are two different types of trim and you have to get the correct rubber seal for the type of trim you have I think one has a 3/8 leg on it and the other is 5/8. If my measurements aren't correct someone will chime in with the correct ones.
