Need some help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

HI
I just bought another truck. I had to sell my last one 6 months ago. I bought a 1982 chevy short box 4x4. This truck is in great shape. I'm looking for some catalogs for parts on this truck. I need to replace the power window/locks motor. Any help will be great. Also It has the factory rims on it and i'm looking to put something else on. Any ideas? The truck has a 4" lift with 33" tires. Do they make a buillet grill for this year as well? If so where can i get one. I will try to post some pics ASAP

They make billet grilles for all 73-87. I ordered mine from a local dealer but you can also order them online and have them shipped to your house. Mine is a 17-bar polished made by Stull.

I bought the same one as Chevy Chic, I bought it local for around $110.00. Real easy install, everything lined up perfectly, better then stock I must say.

How much cutting did you have to do? I'm not really looking forward to someting i have to cut and weld to make fit.

I think Heather's, Eddie's and mine are all Stull polished billets. There is no cutting involved. It's a remove the old grille and install the new one. Pretty simple.

I have a Trenz billet grille - it took me only about 15 minutes to install. No cutting required and the holes that weren't there uses self-tapping screws. All you need is a power screwdriver (power drill with screwdriver bit). Be careful when you install it, billet is softer than some metal.

NOTE: if you want an emblem, you need to fabricate your own brackets. Mine are made from solid blocks of PVC.

As everyone else said, they're very easy to install and look so much better than the stock grilles IMO.

Thanks for all the help. I bought a stull polished billet grill today. Now i just have to wait till it gets here. That will be along wait. Also my wife and I are going out shopping for a digital camera tonight. I have a few more things to do to the truck like a different rear bumber, exhust and wheels that will all be done by this weekend so i will be playing with my new digital camera this weekend and post some pics monday.
