Bagged truck owners
It it possible to take the dump valve and connect it to a lesser pressure tank? to re-claim/filter it & silence?????
sorry i dont know much about bags, just thinking. excuse my potential ignorance |

Re: Bagged truck owners
They have flow controls and mufflers to help out with that instead more tanks or fittings and plumbing. If I understand your correctly, you just want slower dump and quieter?

Re: Bagged truck owners
yeah ive done it....somewhat.
you cant re-use the air, but you can get rid of most of the loud noise of the dumping if it annoys you that much. ive used 1-gallon (i think) tanks on the dumpside under the bed with about 3ft of tubing with the mufflers on the other end of the tank. i got the tanks from lowes, think they were like 30 a piece or something, but this was years ago. they are tanks for water for something to do with a well is all i remember about them and they were red. fast dump, but quieter |

Re: Bagged truck owners
You will not be able to "re-claim" any air.

but why not? why cant you collect the hi pressure air that is leaving the bags & store it in a larger volume tank.... then re-route it back into the in on the pump??? once again, i have no idea what im talking about so excuse me if i sound like a dumb ass. |

Re: Bagged truck owners
you would have to run a pump in between the two tanks with a check valve on it to pump the "reclaimed" air back into your main tank without it going back and just equalling out both tanks. sounds thesable but some have tried before and found it doesnt actually work like this.

Re: Bagged truck owners
I don't understand how this would work without the pressure backfeeding into the valves and would also require a bypass valve at the compressor to feed back in. An air compressor has enough power to fill to a set pressure but the dump would not have enough pressure to go into a tank that is tied in with the regular tank. Not sure if the dump would have enough psi to even fill a seperate tank itself.

Re: Bagged truck owners
dont use dumps for the refill and reuse tank, you are right, there is a problem here. just check valves and compressors straight into the tank, not back through the dumps.keeps 2 separate "air" circuits. but still didnt work. me and a buddy tried messing with this for 2 months tryna get it to work, but we couldnt make it all work

Re: Bagged truck owners
You guys are way over thinking this. There is no need to "reclaim" the air and you are adding a lot on unnecessary lines, valves and expense to the system. If you don't want to hear the system purge, add mufflers. It's just that simple.

Re: Bagged truck owners
Air is free, there is plenty of it, no need to reclaim. Buy the flow controls that have mufflers on them and you can lower the truck as slow as you like and you will barely hear it.

Re: Bagged truck owners
yeah i see no need to reuse the air, the extra tanks before the mufflers is the only way i know of to dump fast AND not hear much. i think he is more concerned with the loudness and might not want to sacrifice a slower dump. most like that fast drop. i say just add some small tanks and be thruogh with it. recycling the air wont get you any faster setup, just get the right stuff to make it fast.
