Question My holes won't line up!

I'm replacing cab mounts on my '71 K10. I did the drivers side first with no problem, but when I got to the passenger side the holes would'nt line up. I made sure to leave the bolts in the opposite side that I was working on so the cab would'nt shift, but something moved. Can I use a jack and a 4x4 to shift the cab or is there a better way? I also noticed the drivers side sits 1/2" lower than the pass. side. Is it o.k. to shim the cab that much on one side. I need help!

Did you tighten up the driver side already.....you shouldn't tighten them up till you got everything done. Yes you can shim the body. my blazer had shims on it from factory. Go fig. hopes this helps.

You can lift it with a floor jack and a length of board to spread the load. In fact, I doubt it can be done otherwise.

I wouldn't think of shimming unless the cab is not level in relation to the frame, not necessarily in relation to the ground. Otherwise, shim away.

Yeh my71 4x4 had shims in one side aswell, I almost get the impression, that the frame was tweeked right from the factory, cause the cab mounts had never been out and they had shims, Dman if your cab bolts are loose theres no reason you shoudn't be able to get those bolts in, I did mine like you did one side then the other no problem, yours must of just shifted a bit, and I shimmed mine all over the place just to get every thing to line up nice, I wanted to make sure my box was lined up with cab, to keep that body line nice
