Re: all good in the hood!
Taking slices out of the side to lower it...
I'm not pancaking mine, but will be doing some interesting changes as I go forward. I can't imagine it would look too good pancaked, it's really low profile to begin with, not like the pre-60's with the tall noses. If you pancake a 67-68 it'd probably look like a modern truck and kill some of the 67-72 feel IMO Trip |

For some reason, when I first read it I saw my old 68 hood in my head, tried to picture it pancaked... looking at the 72 pancaked, that actually looks pretty good, brings the profile more to the 67-68 height, while maintaining the front steep angle and width. Trip |

Just me or does the cab looked to be stretched on that black one?

Re: all good in the hood!
I think its chopped so it gives it the appearance of being longer. Nice truck though.

Re: all good in the hood!
IIRC the cab was stretched 4 or 5". hence the name "legroom"

Re: all good in the hood!
I also like the way the hood looks on the black truck. I can only imagine the amount of time it took to be that perfect.

Re: all good in the hood!
the black truck has a 2" chop on the top a 5 1/2" stretch and he grafted the bed to the cap one of the cleanest trucks i've seen
oh and i remember that not to long ago a hot rod mag did a whole thing on pancaking a 70's hood you might be able to find it online Last edited by tasian; 03-20-2010 at 11:23 PM. |
