Re: will 33's fit a 3/4 2wd

Im fairly sure they will rub in tight turns!! Depending on the width of the rims and how worn out your springs are will also play a role in the equasion........

Any one running 32's then? I know 31's are no prob cause I run them on the 1/2 ton. Any one know of a 2wd lift kit? I have searched and found nothing.

I'm running LT235/85R-16s (31.75" on paper, 32.5" measured) on mine without any rubbing. Even with the old, tired springs up front I had no rubbing.

Re: will 33's fit a 3/4 2wd

I've got 33's on a 4 inch lift... and rubbing in a tight turn. I'd have to measure the tire width...cannot recall of hand. I can also take a pic if you want. I actually need to figure out what's going on...it's driving me crazy. I want to make sure I can run a 33 with steelies... as that is the path I'm taking.

Re: will 33's fit a 3/4 2wd

You can run 33 on a stock C10. A C20 will do fine. I looked for an old thread about 2WD lifts and the lack of them. I could not find it. One of our members runs a C10 on 33s without any lift. C20s have more clearance.

Rim offset is often the problem

Re: will 33's fit a 3/4 2wd

I'm going this route and worried about the same thing. Look for posts by stllookn, he has 33s on a C20. I've test fitted the 33s on mine but for various reasons wasn't able to check if they rub in tight turns.

I'm hoping to get things sorted out and do a proper test this weekend. You can see there is a lot of clearance, but turning will be tight.

Re: will 33's fit a 3/4 2wd

A neighbor had a 70 3/4 ton 396 with factory "wide" rims all the way around. The stock tire size was 33 x 12.50 x 16.5 with no rubbing... I'm not sure what the spacing on the rims is to allow for this, but it didn't stick out and looked fine. I ran 275/85/16's on my 1 ton. On the right side, I had to trim about a 1/2" off of... something, don't remember what, but I think that is because my rim spacing was for narrower tires.

Re: will 33's fit a 3/4 2wd

Here is my 72 C/20 2WD with 33 x 12.50 x 16.5 tires. It rubbed slightly when I made a right turn, but I attribute that to 40yr old ball joints, springs, etc. It had no rubbing when turning to the left.

265 75 16 is pretty much a 32 11.5 16. I ran those on my 70 C2500 Sierra Grande and they were fine. No rubbing and a good size IMO. I ran mine on 16x7 Alcoas.
