What about these wheels?
I'm getting some aluminum wheels before too long. Two of my current wheels were messed up from the wreck way back, and I didn't know about it till now (tire shop kept saying the tires were bad), so I'd rather get some aluminum rims than buy 2 more steelies. Here's the ones I'm going to get when I get some. I like the gray inserts, i think they'll go good with the truck and the price is hard to beat. I'm going to summit later on to check em out and see if I like them in person. The backspacing will move the outer rims outward 2" which should be perfect since the rims i have now are tucked under so bad. Tell me what you think.

Re: What about these wheels?
I think they look cool. Get someone to photoshop the wheels onto your truck.

Re: What about these wheels?
Since you asked, I personally think they look too "busy". The simulated bead lock would look more like home on a faux rock crawler. The center cap doesn't do it for me either.
Again, just MHO

Re: What about these wheels?
as mentioned before ar23's get my vote, I like the summit ones but not the color, if they were the machined alum all around like the ar23's maybe.
The deep dish ar23's look great.

Re: What about these wheels?
I think they both would look good on your truck. Its whatever you like really. You have a very nice looking truck. I really like the color.

Re: What about these wheels?
The polished, clear coated version of the renegade wheel is $70 less per wheel.... What are the advantages to paying the extra $280 for chrome? The chrome should outlast the clear coat, but I maintain my vehicle paints and such pretty well.

Re: What about these wheels?
As I said before extra $280? no way, summit has the reg. renegades for like $120 and they are polished, and I don't think they have ANY clear coat, but chrome ones were like maybe $280 and IMo polished, is alot more work, chrome just wax it and be done. If they are chromed aluminum wheels they will never rust. Polished alum. is polished and will need repolished every so often.

Re: What about these wheels?
It's about $280 extra over a set of 4, sorry... it's about $65-$70 less for the polished wheels each.
I emailed raceline to ask if they are clear coated. If they are, I'll get the polished ones. Now I need to decide if I want 16's or 18's. I'm thinkin 18's but I'll need new tires. 18's would be sweet! and about a 33" tire. guess I can always sell the tires I have now... |

Re: What about these wheels?
I'd do 15's or 16's I hate big wheels.
As for clear coated polished, definately they would hold up well no repolishing for sure. Might want to ask summit if you buy from them I seen some wheels summit had didn't list clear coat, but the manufacter had both, summit did not they only had a set that was machined and clear coated, and the polished ones were not coated which sucked.

Re: What about these wheels?
If it were me I'd go with the 18's, in general I think they look killer on any 8 lug.

Re: What about these wheels?
I looked up the renegade 8's. The polished are not clear coated. So If I get them I'll get the chrome ones.
I'm going to get the 18x8.5's If I get 16's I'll just wish I had 18's later...lol And for tires I want goodyear wrangler silent armor, 265/70R18. Last edited by 78 Chevyrado; 07-13-2010 at 02:26 PM. |

I think Im going to hurry up and get the wheels quick as i can. I went by the goodyear place and the guy quoted me 50% off the silent armors. They were $255 each. 265/70R18 for $126 each Screamin deal
My quotes good till Aug 12, so I gotta git-r-done! |

Re: What about these wheels?
By the way, Has anybody had any experiences withhttp://www.polyperformance.com/?
I think I'm going to get my wheels there. The BS i want is an oddball not many places carry or can get (so they say) so I want to get it from these guys, I'd just like to know if they're any good before I give them a $G for rims. |
