Dude - without hanging over the side of the bed while driving or anything, is there anyway you can get some sound with that thing under way?

Better do it quick, 'cuz yer butt is gonna get pulled over soon!

Re: 292 inline open headers idle vid!

im gonna have my wife take a vid of me driving around the shop yard then up and down the road, then maybe have her in the cab holding camera. actually the cops in my town where i live love the truck, its the town where i work that might be a problem but i've driven by state cops and town cops before with no problem so far(the trucks got too much awesome to pull over).
probably wont get vid till monday as tomm is her birthday so this weekend is all for her none of my truck stuff, though may drive her to dinner in it...
72custom i plan, budget allowing one day on some lpg 9:1 comp pistons .040 over heads milled .040 clifford 270 cam with rhoads lifters, lump port kit for intake, 1.94 intake and 1.56 exh valves, hei, and either a 2x1bbl intake or 3x1bbl intake.

You Hooligan! Terrorizing that sleepy New England town with your Flame-belching headers!

I love how you're in third gear before you hit 20.

Re: 292 inline open headers idle vid!

yeah the 292 is definetly a lot stronger then youd think i hoping when i finally get an exhuast system on it it wil improve the lowend torque and i can tune the carb better.
72customdeluxe summitracing sells them actually they will say LPG in the part description, they wont say they are 9.0:1 compression, but they will work they come in std, .030, .040 and .060 oversizes. i'll be ordering mine through them when i can finally start the rebuild. heres one from them,
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FEM-980P40/
shaky, i can usaully get it into 4th by 20 when the motors warm when it cold after just starting i wind it up a bit as it sputters everyonce in a while, 20mph in 4th=1200rpms 30mph=1800rpms 35=2100rpms and 40mph=2500rpms which is pretty high as it appears to redline at either 3600 or 4000rpms either way 30mph comes at half throttle.
btw did the math this week after filling up i got 15.7 mpg!!! with 4.56grs!! woot woot
