crap ! Goldish color came off the carb.
I am rebuilding my 2 jet rochester. I sprayed it off with carb cleaner first and it was a nice goldish color. Then when i took it all apart i put the big parts into a gallon of carb parts cleaner and left it over night. Well this morning i too the parts out and it ate up all the goldish color. So will i be ok with out that coating on the carb? It still has some coating left in some parts but its darker now.
I just finished putting it all back together about ten minutes ago. It stinks that the original color is gone. Any thoughts on what to do about it or just leave it alone? |

Re: crap ! Goldish color came off the carb.
eastwood company has a kit of spray paints that replicate the factory gold anodizing used on carbs// it's pretty locost and you can get very close to the original looks
