Rear end ID help please 67 C10 Stamped #'s?
It's a GM 12 bolt with the following info
NF 3896838 GM 60 THA W 0832 2 If anyone can point me in the right direction or let me know....I have been looking on internet for 4 days and still can't find out exactly where it came from. It's on a 67 C10 but I'm not sure if it's the original. Car or truck? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

i had same question a couple weeks ago. what someone pointed out is numbers might tell you what came from factory, but not always whats in there now. i took cover off and found gear ratio stamped on ring gear and a posi set up. if you do find codes i also would be interested to see if mine was ordered or changed at some point.

Yeah, it's a 5 lug. I thought 3.07 were car rear ends?

3.07 was a very common gear for pickups. Good Luck!

Those #s won't give you to much info, say your looking at your rear axle with your back under the trans. Go about 6 inches to the left of the pumpkin at about the 2 O'clock position and start scrubbing. I used sand paper and clean paper towels. It literally has to be SHINEY clean to see it. It's stamped with a die not cast.

That's a good description of the location. Here is a graphic of it (disregard the casting number info).

Re: Rear end ID help please 67 C10 Stamped #'s?
can anyone help identify mine?
I do realize this is a very old thread, but figured it was worth a shot. 67890 - GM 12 bolt E120 - May 12, 1970 NF3896838 Axle Stamp = TDA 0521W1 so I think the TDA means its a 3.73 gear and i think the 052 is the 52 day of the year it was built? and i have no clue what the 1W1 means? any ideas? Thanks, |
