skip white hei ?????

i bought a 6500 R dizzy and wires from skip white at jefferson swap meet fri. i insalled it tues nite and it works great but i cant seem to set the timing so it will start easily when its warm. i put a new pos. cable, a 12 gauge wire to dizzy and i followed directions according to skip white.com. it was had to restart when i switched from points to petronix 5 years ago also. my truck doesnt have any pep at 8 degrees adv. 72 -350 4 barrell -th400 auto 3.73 gears. cant lite the tires from a stop. any thoughts ???? old money.

Check you vacuum advance..... diaphram on mine lasted 6 months.

I have the skip white dizzy and have 18 deg in initial timing and 32 total, you might try to up the timing a little
