I need someone to post a spid pic...

of a 402(or 396) truck with factory 4 speed. I need to nicely prove a point that big block 4 speed trucks were made but I no longer have any spid pics of this particular powertrain combo on my computer. thanks

i don't have the photo you need, but who is saying they didn't come this way? You could even get a manual 3 speed with a big block.

Re: I need someone to post a spid pic...

A local guy that claims they only made big block autos(2 or 4wd mind you) and that they did not make big block 4 speed trucks til the 80s. He is tryin to sell quite the pieced together 67 3/4. wrong front axle(from other that I've seen), 69-up buckets and console, and a big block 4 speed. I just want to educate him that he's wrong, and has been for the past year that he's been trying to sell the truck.

Re: I need someone to post a spid pic...

I don't know if this will help. Yeah....I was told the same thing once ( only A/T's came w/ B/B's). I have a 402 w/ an sm465 4 speed in my '72 C30. It's all exactly as it came from the factory to the original owner. It was delivered as a cab & chassis. Flat bed w/ a gooseneck was installed. She gets up & goes to work EVERY DAY!

Re: I need someone to post a spid pic...

You may also remind him that not only was a bigblock 4x4 not available, but a big block 2wd in 67 was not either i believe. I think 68 was the first 396 in pickups. (someone correct me if i am wrong)
In my first pic, the clutch pedal is behind the flywheel. Should also add that this truck was a low hump cab if i remember...

Re: I need someone to post a spid pic...

Thanks for the pic, I guess I'll wait for a reply now to see if it convinced him. And you are right about 68 being the first years for big blocks in light duty trucks(no idea on heavy duty trucks). I did mention that no 4wd big blocks were made until the mid 70s.
