The rarest 67 EVER! (next to the mule that is)

http://stgeorge.craigslist.org/cto/1722698326.html ( not mine) When I talked to him on the phone he said the side marker lights are factory installed. I like the A/c cab, speed minder, tach and horn button. No tilt or buddy buckets though. He wants 1100. owner says it has a running 350 and will email me a pic of the spid! cst and camper special, could be cool? mama wants the blazer done before anything else come home.

Re: The rarest 67 EVER!

unusual looking fender markers, 68 72 vent windows, big back window, looks like a 68 to me but if it runs I think 1100 is decent if theres a title, it does have a cst wiper knob though might actually be a big window 67 with the vents replaced and side markers added
My bad I see the small back window now. . . its a 67 for sure, and a CST!! cool! body looks decent from what I see, 1100 seems worth it

Re: The rarest 67 EVER!

Same guy that refished the dash probably added the side markers. a neighbor down the road swears his uncle bought a 69 brand new, with disc brakes. He's not a liar.. He honestly believes that this is a fact. I remember going by the dealership in the fall of 66. Back then they soaped up the windows of the dealerships, so the public couldn't see the new models until some time in october when they unveiled them. Any of you other old farts remember this?? John

That dash (even though it's ugly as sin) is worth about $400+

Re: The rarest 67 EVER!

It`s a`67 alright.Did he also say the carpeted dash was part of the side marker package? All `67 CSTs came with buddy buckets...where`d they go?Maybe the same guy that got the original motor? No tilt till`69.$1,100 isn`t bad, tho`.
Yeah John,I remember all the hooplah with the "New Breed" introduction.I was a kid of 12 years, but already a motorhead.I had my nose in the magazines, built models, ran slot cars, went to the drag strip, and hung in the older guy`s garages. They tolerated me cuz I had a couple pretty older sisters.

Re: The rarest 67 EVER!

I think we can all figure out the markers, dash, clear turn signals and the buckets being gone.........BUT what's up with the 68up vent windows? MAYBE very late production and MAYBE why the markers were added to meet government standards for 68? Never mind those markers probably weren't around in 67/68. So i conclude a PO did it all.

It`s been painted and the door mirrors aren`t `67 either.Just another 40+ year old truck with stuff fixed and added and an owner who swears on what he doesn`t know.

You got me on that! Didn't know of any frame differences other than the relief for the integral power steering box on the '68.

Re: The rarest 67 EVER!

Nice truck, .....and I met the founder of the big Ford dealership in town once, I asked him about the Sixties and what it was like, ...he said that when the new models were coming out he would put up a tarp fence around the lot to hide the cars and build the hype.... he said it worked, people would be trying to look under it and over it..... at that time the dealership was a mile out in the country, and the road in front of it was kind of a Drag strip. now there is a Mall behind it. .

thanks for listening, kent

Re: The rarest 67 EVER!

A buddy and I used to haunt the dealerships in town and get as many different sales brochures as we could before a salesguy (I don't remember any women salespeople in the early 50's) would run us out. The anticipation for the new cars started running high in August, then when September came around it was a game to see who would get the first glimpse of the new cars. The thing of it was, they looked different from each other then, and each model year changed it's looks from the year before. Even the models within a marque would be significantly different. In those days you could order individual add-ons. You didn't have to buy the whole "appearance package" to get a do-dad.
My parents used to get upset with me when I could recite the make, model, engine options, and base price of a passing car, but had trouble with school work.
Priority's, I guess.
