Blazer Value Q?

I know someone who has a rustfree unrestored Blazer he is selling and he asked my opinion on value. He already has a committed buyer that he knows and wants to be fair, yet not undersell it.He`s the second owner and has had it for over 20 years. It`s in great mechanical condition with no issues. We both already have an idea for a price, but I`d like to get other`s unbiased opinions to help assure where we think it`s at on value.Weall know there`s no "book" and alot depends on what someone will pay.Just look at it and give your gut feelings. Thanks in advance.

Man that is nice! You just don't see them in that good of condition - especially around here. Definitely worth at least $8,000 judging from the posted pics.

Re: Blazer Value Q?

What are the options? What is the interior condition? What is the paint condition? Does it have any documentaion? For a rust free and original rig, minimum $10K. I've had offers of $20K for mine (before the economy took a dump).

That stripe on the top may pull the value down slightly than a truck without it.

Re: Blazer Value Q?

Rust free and unrestored are the key words in my opinion! If that is true I would agree with the others of a minimum $10k. Of course air, tilt, cst (I think I see door emblems), etc all pile on the dollars pretty quick up from there.

Re: Blazer Value Q?

It`s an a/c CST with Highlander option. All CST equipment in tact w/96,000 miles on it.350/TH350 with hiway ratio. You guys are right around where we were thinking, too. He`s like I used to be...only buys/doesn`t sell. This will go to a member of his extended family.Naturally he doesn`t want to sell it too high, but also if he gives too good a deal all the other family members could feel slighted. It can get touchy with family,as some may know.
I`ll see what else it has. That`s all I can remember. It`s not perfect but very nice and unmolested.

Tim, I'd say 10-12k, for that one, being a CST, AC and a highlander is a big plus. Wish I had some money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shouldn't it have a tailgate band if its a CST? Also original paint would make a difference.

I guess to me it does.It may be painted,a stripe painted on the top,and rallye wheels bolted on,but nothing has been cut, altered, replaced,no body work, and all mechanicals are original and in place as they left the factory.Nothing a fix of a few dings and a fresh paint job wouldn`t do to have a 100% original Blazer(with a repaint). To me unmolested and all original are two different things.Original means "nothing at all" is changed.Unmolested means nothing has been altered from original that couldn`t be put back with a small amount of work. And,whatever`s been done has to be a very small percent like over 95% original.Nothing more than a set of wheels and a radio needs to be sought out to have all original parts on this Blazer. It has an aftermarket stereo in the uncut dash.

Shhh...I think that`s his keeper .He`s a truck lover and has his little collection of choice gems. This is the first time selling any vehicle or even a part and I believe it is "only" because it`s a family member.Make you wonder what`s in that buildings?

Yes,it`s a Highlander. This Blazer has spent it`s whole life between Arizona, south Colorado, and northern New Mexico...the dry Southwest. And,he`s owned it for the past 23 years as only the second owner.I believe we`ve come up with a good value base for his sale and it supports what we had both felt off the tops of our heads.Just an unrepaired rust free Blazer tub is a rare gem and to be a complete vehicle with few bolts ever turned, under 100,000 miles, and still very operable condition speaks for this vehicle.A person could hop in and drive it daily or do about as easy a restoration as it gets. That`s how I look at them.If it was all 100% "off the lot" original I`d want to ad another 25-50% just because you just don`t find these things that way. Thanks a lot for the help to all and if you find another like this let me know first.I`ll give ya $2,500 for it.

Re: Blazer Value Q?

It had already been committed to a relative and they were just needing to set a price that`s fair to both.

Re: Blazer Value Q?

Tim, the blazer I had was starting to have some rust issues, I got a couple bids, labor only to fix the rust was $5500, so a rust free one to start with is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah Randy, that`s what I always look at when paying the price for goood rustfree trucks.I also weight the cost of transport against that since I`m back east where such a thing is a real rare bird.Plus,it`s just not the same to have a 100% rust removed vehicle as 100% never had any rust vehicle.Only the latter would I ever consider "rustfree".
This Blazer does have the Blue Plaid/Parchment Highlander interior which, whether you like that pattern or not, increases rarity and value. The tailgate band is included and so are the orignal Highlander wheelcovers.I`ve never even seen a 4wd Highlander cover. My K/20 Highlander came with bright dog dishes.

That Grapefruit Blazer is his hunting rig. It`s a 350/4spd standard model.I`d like one like that.Just a good ole rancher Blazer.

If you get a chance, I'd like to see what the highlander covers look like. I don't think I've seen them before either.
