pullin seat belts

Wanted to know the best way to pull belts? Seems like I find a good set at the bone yard and when i try to pry off the plastic cover on ouside belts they end up cracked and damaged. Anyone got any tricks to getten em out with without tearing them up?

if you're interested in safety. new belts are the way to go. old belts are good for cosmetics
