New Member with pics
Hi my name is Michael I am a new member. I recently aquired this 69 as a trade on my 94 V-6 camaro (truck was actually downpayment with an additional $3000 for the car) Since I got this I have added gauges, fixed the wipers, added an exhaust and other odds and ends toward getting it street legal. I also replaced the rear springs because previous owner had lowered the truck by heating the springs. They were lowered so much all the coils were bunched together. The front is also lowered in the same way. I am just waiting till we have some dry days to replace front spring and ball joints

Here is a view from the rear. The tailgate is getting replaced with a new one. This one has more bondo than than metal. Overall there is very little bondo on the whole vehicle(using magnet technique).

This is a closeup of the hood. I like the artwork but I doubt it will stay on the truck. I am thinking of an aftermarket hood and maybe using this as a decoration in my garage.

I like the artwork and I would feel really bad destroying it thats why I am considering making it into a permenant art piece in my garageeven and replacing it with a replacement hood or even a cowl hood. As far as engine and tranny they are both fresh rebuilt. The engine is a 350 with Holley 850 double pumper on top of an edlebrock intake. It has a slightly hopped up cam but I havent gotten the specs from the PO yet. I plan on going with TPI fuel injection because I already have every thing except the computer(I have the stock computer but I don't wannt to deal with burning chips, I know how but is a major pain) The tranny is a beefed up Turbo 350. The interior is a good and bad. The dash is hacked, and the cowl is rusted thru on both sides of the truck. The seat is brand new. The stock gauges are gone but fortunately I had a complete set of Autometer Phatom gauges laying around from a previous project I didn't finish. I have had to replace the springs, shocks, install the gauges, fix the wipers, and other odds and ends to get street legal. I figure I will need a new rust free cab and I planned to repaint so the off blue that the doors are painted is not a big deal since the are perfect otherwise.
As with any truck on here there is work to do but it will be my daily driver next week after I get it all legal. |
