Busted Nuts and Knuckles - Jeep Springs

Alright I remember reading a thread about lowing my 67 with jeep springs. So I bought a pair and I started removing the nuts and YUP you guessed it....They broke off.

Here are my questions:

1. Does anyone know which thread showed how to jack your truck and had all the good tips on how to get it done?

2. Once I loosen everything else up will the broken lower bolt come out or is it threaded all the way through the frame rail?

3. I successfully loosened one side so I can use those bolts to go buy some more but if anyone knows the correct size that would be cool too.

4. Whats the best way to pop the finger nail so I can let the pressure out from underneath the blackened fingernail..... I don't really need the answer just some sympathy :>)

Thanks for all the help guys what a great resource this site is!!!!!

Re: Busted Nuts and Knuckles - Jeep Springs

jack the truck up by the frame and use jack stands

your going to learn lesson one first...when you start plannig to do a project start off by spraying everything with PB blaster

those bolts will come out..they arn't threaded but may need some "attention" to get out

try pin under the nail..sorry no symathy for yea it happens to all of us sooner or later

Yeah...used the blaster too. It worked great to free up my stepside fenders and one side of the springs but the other side had a blood lust. I will giv ethe springs the "attention" the deserve on Saturday....

When I first read that title I was afraid of what it meant , glad it was not the painful kind.
